Capel Vale

Capel Vale is one of the Australian famous family winery located in south-western Australia. It is approximately 3 hours drive towards south from city of Perth. Capel Vale has arguably the most diverse vineyard resource in Western Australia with more than 250 hectares across the 4 major regions. The regions enjoy a very mild climate with a strong Mediterranean influence, it has a lovely dark colour, richness about it, and the style is very similar to the style of old world particularly the Pomerol style. Capel Vale is a pioneer within Western Australia and amongst the first to be established with vines planted in 1974, over nearly half central hard work and pursue, Capel Vale is now crowned one of the top 20 wineries around 3500 wineries in Australia, Capel Vale has been appointed top 5 stars winery in James Halliday Wine Companion for several years.

Winemaker: Larry Cherubino

Raised in the Swan Valley, Larry was studying for an agriculture degree when he worked a vintage as cellarhand at the valley’s iconic Houghton, Australia’s third oldest winery. He enjoyed working there so much so that he deferred his degree and spent the next few years working vintages in Europe and back at Houghton. Eventually he graduated with a double major in agribusiness and horticulture, and went on to study oenology at Adelaide’s famed Roseworthy College. This eventually led to a role as winemaker at Tintara Wines in South Australia. In 2006, Larry was appointed by Capel Vale as senior winemaking consultant.Simplicity in winemaking requires great attention to detail in the vineyard, an uncompromising approach fruit selection and uncomplicated winemaking, all framed by a kind season.
